Base Platoon Leader for the 3rd Helicopter Squadron

About the Unit:

The 3rd Helicopter Squadron operates at Blekinge Air Force Wing in Ronneby. We are one of four squadrons and belong to the Helicopter Wing in Linköping. At the squadron in Ronneby, we have about 190 employees. Our unit is housed in modern facilities where the entire squadron is gathered in a common building. Our development and growth provide many opportunities for you as an employee. The squadron's mission is primarily focused on maritime operations, which means close cooperation with the Navy. The 3rd Helicopter Squadron is now developing helicopter base capabilities in the form of a base company. The base company supports within the functions of aviation fuel, aviation ammunition, communication, rescue, and close protection. We are now looking for base platoon leaders who will be responsible, together with the company management, for building up this capability.

About the Position:

In the role of platoon leader, you will assist the company management in planning and leading the main task of the operation. You will initially be responsible for building up the platoon and then lead, plan, execute, and follow up on operations. You will also have personnel and material responsibility. The base platoon leader also contributes to planning and budgeting for the company's operations. You will lead the platoon during exercises and missions, and further in your career, you are planned to serve as a company commander in the future. In the war organization, you will serve as a base platoon leader or deputy base company commander, or alternatively in the squadron staff.

The Position Includes:

• Responsibility for building up the platoon, recruitment/staffing
• Personnel responsibility with associated administrative tasks
• Operational planning and budgeting responsibility
• Exercise and mission operations
• Readiness tasks
• Maintaining soldier skills and competencies
• Responsibility for training the platoons for assigned tasks
• Regular physical training/sports.

Qualifications:

• Swedish citizen
• Officer training OP
• Driver's license at least category B, manual transmission
• Military driver's license.
• Physical ability according to the Armed Forces' requirements.

Meritorious:

• Previous employment/service related to aviation maintenance, flight service
• Driver's license category C1 or higher
• Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written
• Experience working in a company/battalion staff or equivalent
• Current and relevant leadership training
• Experience in personnel services and work environment in the Armed Forces

We are looking for someone with high administrative ability and a good capacity to work on several different tasks simultaneously. You are responsible and proactive, driven, and want to develop the organization personally and materially with a continuously high safety awareness. You value leadership by example and are thus a role model for colleagues. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
